State Had Repeated Warnings About Health Website

Governor Peter Shumlin is continuing to say he didn't know the extent of problems with the Vermont Health Connect insurance exchange website until after Labor Day.

There were  numerous warnings beginning in the spring from a company brought in to review development of the project about problems with the website — and its urgings that the highest levels of state government be notified.

Vermont Public Radio reports it got access to the warnings after a public-records request.

Shumlin told a news conference on Wednesday he's tried to be transparent about problems with Vermont Health Connect.

But he also acknowledges he made no public comments about a security lapse on the site between when he learned of it around Oct. 17 and news reports about it more than a month later.
