One plan for development at the William Stanley Business Park in Pittsfield, Massachusetts is on hold.

In a letter to the Pittsfield Economic Development Authority, or PEDA, Waterstone Retail requested the board not vote on a proposed retail complex at the former General Electric site. In July, the Needham-based company proposed building a $30 million complex on a 16 acre site at the park. The letter stated the group is redefining its scope to develop a mixed-use master plan for the park based on public comments heard at a meeting attended by more than 100 people in September.

“I think that we’ll be hearing quite a bit more from Waterstone in the future,” said PEDA board member Doug Crane of Crane & Co.

Waterstone proposed a different complex for the same site in 2011.
