The city of Springfield Massachusetts is hosting a forum on Monday where two casino operators will again be able to pitch their proposals to the public.
At Monday afternoon’s forum , representatives from MGM Resorts and Penn National Gaming will talk about how their projects will impact traffic and existing entertainment venues in Springfield. Mayor Domenic Sarno said the forum is an important part of the city’s casino selection process.
A casino forum in December drew an audience of nearly 500 people to listen to MGM and Penn National officials lay out their competing plans to build a resort casino in downtown Springfield. Sarno said a third casino forum will be scheduled on the topic of public safety.
