A Massachusetts native was one of the four Americans killed in Lybia in an attack by suspected Islamic terrorists. WAMC’s Paul Tuthill reports.
Glen Doherty, who was 42, grew up in Winchester , a suburb north of Boston. He was former Navy SEAL, and the co-author of a 2010 book on military sniper tactics. Doherty was working fro a private security company when he was killed along with the others, including the US Ambassador to Lybia, Chris Stevens during the attack Tuesday on the US Consulate in Benghazi. Doherty’s sister , Kate Quigly, in a brief statement said her brother lived his life to the fullest..and she asked for privacy while the family grieved for her brother, whom she called, “ our American hero.”
