The U.S. House passed green jobs legislation that includes an amendment from a New York congressman.
Democratic 19th District Congressman Antonio Delgado’s amendment to the Clean Economy Jobs and Innovation Act that passed the House Thursday requires the Department of Labor and the Department of Energy to prepare quarterly reports projecting current and future workforce needs within clean energy technology industries. Delgado’s amendment includes elements of his Green Jobs and Opportunity Act. The overarching bill that passed — the Clean Economy Jobs and Innovation Act — includes programs to develop renewable energy, improve efficiency in homes and businesses, electrify transportation and infrastructure, reduce carbon pollution and more.
