The Common Council in Poughkeepsie is set to vote on a resolution Tuesday that would move the city toward establishing a land bank.

Council members are slated to vote on a resolution to approve an intermunicipal agreement between Poughkeepsie and Dutchess County. The resolution also includes draft articles of incorporation and an application to the Empire State Development Corporation. Common Council Vice Chair Sarah Brannen says that after a year of research there is agreement on a city-county partnership to create a land bank to address vacant and abandoned properties, provide access to affordable housing, and support healthy neighborhoods.
