A New York state senator says it’s time to stop the clock on Daylight Savings Time.

Hudson Valley state Senator James Skoufis says he’ll be introducing legislation to put an end to what he calls an antiquated back-and-forth that's rooted in World War I history and is nothing short of annoying and stupid. Skoufis declared as much on his Facebook page November 3, the date for rolling clocks back an hour, the fall behind partner of springing ahead. His post drew hundreds of comments. Skoufis, a Democrat, says studies show that permanent Daylight Savings Time could lead to a reduction in energy consumption, crime and vehicle and pedestrian fatalities.
