The 50th Anniversary of Woodstock is here. Thursday evening, at the site of the original festival, Bethel Woods Center for the Arts is showing Academy Award-winning documentary “Woodstock: The Director's Cut.”

New York State Senator Jen Metzger, whose 42nd District includes Sullivan County, says she’s heading to Bethel for the film and the performance prior.

“Arlo Guthrie is playing. I grew up on the ‘Alice’s Restaurant’ album. We play it every year at Thanksgiving. So I’m really excited, really excited for it,” says Metzger. “And we’re presenting them with a resolution recognizing the 50th anniversary.”

Bethel Woods is hosting concerts and other events for the anniversary.  Another festival initially slated for Watkins Glen — Woodstock 50 — was canceled following numerous issues.
