NY Rep. To Honor Victims Of Gun Violence

New York Congresswoman Nita Lowey will be in Westchester County Friday for Gun Violence Awareness Day.

The Democratic House Appropriations chairwoman will be on the steps of White Plains City Hall to honor the many Americans lost to gun violence. White Plains Mayor Tom Roach; Westchester’s 2018 March for our Lives Director and Team Enough NY Co-founder Kelly Marx; along with members of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America will be on hand. Lowey will call on Senate Republicans to pass gun violence prevention legislation. Lowey is an original cosponsor of H.R. 8, the Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2019. The House passed this legislation in February.
