Chele Farley Announces A Run For A Hudson Valley House Seat

The Republican candidate who challenged Democratic U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand of New York in 2018 has her eye on a House seat in the Hudson Valley.

Chele Farley announced on Tuesday that she will seek the Republican, Conservative and other party nominations for New York’s 18th Congressional District seat in 2020. It’s the seat currently held by Democrat Sean Patrick Maloney, now serving his fourth term. In a statement, Maloney says, “The folks I work for want someone focused on solving their problems. There will be plenty of time to worry about politics next year." Farley is the founder of a private equity investment firm, Scott Smith of Goshen announced his candidacy for the seat in March as an independent candidate. He has run for the seat before. The 18th district includes Orange, Putnam and parts of Dutchess and Westchester counties.
