A nearly $14 million project to rehabilitate six bridges in the Hudson Valley is under way. New York state Department of Transportation Acting Commissioner Paul Karas says the project aims to extend the service life of long-span bridges on state highways in Dutchess, Orange and Westchester counties.
Four bridges in Dutchess that will undergo repairs are the bridges carrying Route 9 over Fishkill Creek in the town of Fishkill; the bridge carrying the Taconic State Parkway over the James Baird State Park Entrance Road in the town of Lagrange; and the bridge that carries I-84 westbound over Route 52 in the town of East Fishkill. In Orange County, Route 17A over the Wawayanda Creek in the village of Warwick will have its concrete deck replaced and undergo sidewalk and curb repair. In Westchester County, repairs are taking place on the bridge carrying Senasqua Road over Route 9 in the village of Croton-on-Hudson.
