Clearwater To Honor Former EPA Official With Award

Judith Enck
EPA

Hudson River Sloop Clearwater will honor a former U.S. Environmental Protection Agency official at its Third Annual Spirit of the Hudson gala in February.

Clearwater will honor former EPA Regional Administrator Judith Enck with a Spirit of the Hudson Award for her longtime service to the environment. The annual award recognizes individuals who exemplify the environmental values and spirit of Clearwater's founder, Pete Seeger. Enck was appointed by President Barack Obama as EPA Region 2 Administrator in 2009 and served for seven years. She was president of the Clearwater Board of Directors and served on the Board from 1987-1990. Since stepping down from the EPA, Enck has been outspoken about the Trump administration’s efforts to roll back environmental regulations. Enck is an occasional WAMC commentator.
