New York Congressman John Faso will host a series of events to discuss the Republican tax proposal.
The Republican congressman says conference calls have been scheduled with local Chambers of Commerce leaders; local elected officials and community leaders; and one that is open to all residents of the 19th District. Participation details will be released on Faso’s social media platforms. Faso says there is much in the tax plan that will help the economy and middle-class taxpayers but he remains concerned about the elimination of the deduction for state and local income taxes. Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney, of the neighboring 18th District, held a telephone town hall Wednesday night with his constituents on the GOP tax plan, which he and fellow Democrats are blasting. Faso says critics who say the plan is only to help the rich are not telling the truth.
