The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York is offering a new degree program.

Aspiring culinarians may pursue a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management beginning in September 2018.

The Hospitality Management major will be part of the CIA’s School of Business and Management. CIA staff say that with nearly one million jobs being created by 2024 in the leisure and hospitality sectors, there is a growing need for educated professionals in this field who have a strong food background.

The CIA's food and beverage core will consist of 30 credits, and include wine studies and table service in addition to developing students' culinary and baking and pastry skills.
