Start-Up NY Businesses Expand, Locate In The HV

Governor Andrew Cuomo Friday announced that 39 businesses have joined START-UP NY, the tax-free program associated with colleges and universities across the state. He says the businesses have committed to create 817 new jobs and invest more than $30 million statewide over the next five years.

In the Hudson Valley, and in connection with Orange County Community College, Oregon-based Aurora Innovations will create 53 jobs and invest some $4.7 million. It’s a manufacturer and distributor of organic garden products and will open an eastern U.S. facility. FlightLevel Dutchess is adding seven jobs amid a $310,000 investment as it expands by opening an aircraft maintenance operation at Dutchess County Airport. In connection with Ulster Community College, existing information technology company Anchor ID will create 15 jobs and invest $75,000. And Up Homes will create seven jobs and invest $575,000.
