Legoland New York To Open Welcome Center In Goshen

WAMC, Allison Dunne

Legoland New York officials said Tuesday they will be opening a welcome center in Goshen, likely within the next two months.

The Legoland New York Community Welcome Center will open at 6 N. Church Street in Goshen, in Orange County. It will allow people to stop by and learn more about the proposed theme park from Merlin Entertainments, which is set to invest half-a-billion dollars into the development of Legoland New York over five years. Plans are to build on 123 acres of a 523-acre site off Route 17 in Goshen. Opposition group Stop Legoland formed early, while area residents who support Legoland New York have grown more vocal. A major concern is how the company will handle traffic.
