Poughkeepsie’s mayor Friday announced the appointment of a city administrator.
Mayor Rob Rolison says Deborah McDonnell will be the city administrator, the first female in the post. Rolison says McDonnell’s appointment comes after a national search that drew 35 applicants. McDonnell has been the city administrator in Fairborn, Ohio for the past 10 years and, prior, was the Director of Community Development for the Village of Saranac Lake for 10 years. McDonnell is slated to be confirmed at a city Common Council meeting September 6. McDonnell will be joining Marc Nelson, the recently hired city finance commissioner who was brought on from Hartford, Connecticut.
