Poughkeepsie Journal Music Writer Discusses Clearwater Festival Cancellation

Clearwater announced Thursday that it was cancelling its Great Hudson River Revival, citing financial reasons. Reaction has ranged from disappointment to anger. WAMC’s Hudson Valley Bureau Chief Allison Dunne spoke with Poughkeepsie Journal music writer John Barry, who attended Clearwater’s Board of Directors meeting Wednesday, where the decision was made to steer clear of taking such a big financial risk by holding the festival.

That was John Barry, music writer for The Poughkeepsie Journal, speaking with WAMC’s Hudson Valley Bureau Chief Allison Dunne. The first of the smaller Clearwater concert kicks off at 2 today, at the Rosendale Rec Center, featuring Guy Davis and Decora. It’s a tribute to Pete Seeger and runs until 6 p.m.
