Police have arrested a suspect in the beating death of a Newburgh man outside a bar and restaurant in the city.
Authorities say they located 26-year-old Alvaro Ramos-Lopez, a City of Newburgh resident, in the Town of Mount Pleasant in Westchester County. Ramos-Lopez has been charged with second-degree murder. Police say 40-year-old City of Newburgh resident Armando Soriano-Martel was fatally beaten with a metal pipe outside the Rey Del Pollo Bar & Restaurant on Washington Street early Friday morning. Ramos-Lopez was arraigned Tuesday and remanded without bail to the Orange County Jail. His next court appearance is April 10. The case will be presented to an Orange County grand jury.
