The Dutchess County executive will trade places Wednesday morning with another county employee.
Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro will be manning the county office building’s parking attendant’s booth on Market Street in Poughkeepsie, and it’s not an April Fool’s Day joke. Meanwhile, the usual parking attendant, Melody Newton, will serve as acting county executive. The swap is only for an hour, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. It’s part of Molinaro’s efforts to highlight the various aspects of county government. Earlier this month, he helped Meals on Wheels of Greater Hyde Park deliver meals to several residents. Later this spring, he will be answering phones at the Dutchess County Office for the Aging, where they assist with more than 150 calls each day.
