Maloney, Hayworth To Participate In Environment Forum

Two candidates in a rematch in New York’s 18th Congressional District will take part in a forum Tuesday evening in Westchester County.

Democratic Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney and former Congresswoman Nan Hayworth will participate in a forum on the environment at the Bedford Historical Society’s Historical Hall, at 7 p.m., hosted by the New York League of Conservation Voters Education Fund. Marcia Bystryn is president of the New York League of Conservation Voters. She says the league holds forums in competitive races in which it has yet to make an endorsement.

“Last time around we did not endorse either candidate,” says Bystryn. “We had a forum then as well, in Bedford.”

The format is such that each candidate appears separately, as was the case in a forum earlier in October with 19th congressional district candidates Republican Chris Gibson and Democrat Sean Eldridge. Maloney and Hayworth, who lives in Bedford, meet up for a Time Warner Cable News debate two days later, October 16, at Marist College at 7 p.m.
