A group opposed to drone warfare is holding a rally Independence Day in the Hudson Valley.
Drone Alert - Hudson Valley is holding a July 4 rally in New Paltz called "Our Unalienable Rights," referring to a phrase in the Declaration of Independence. A rally organizer says the gathering is designed to elicit a revolutionary July 4 and draw attention to a dysfunctional U.S. government that is detrimental to the life, liberty, safety, and happiness of the governed. Other rally co-sponsors are the AntiOppression Forum, New Paltz Climate Action Coalition, and Hudson Valley Earth First! The rally begins at noon at Peace Park in New Paltz, across from the village hall. The rain date is 4 p.m. July 5. The rally will include singing some Pete Seeger songs and there will be a picnic afterwards -- bring-your-own-food.
