Some New York state lawmakers are hosting their annual state budget meeting in Rockland County Thursday afternoon.
State Senator David Carlucci, an Independent Democrat, and Democratic Assemblymembers Ken Zebrowski, Ellen Jaffee, and James Skoufis will host the state budget hearing to give their Rockland constituents a chance to weigh in on what they think should be budget priorities. The lawmakers say the meeting is essential to reflect the needs of the Rockland community in Governor Andrew Cuomo’s proposed 2014-2015 budget. Carlucci says the hearing will provide an opportunity for residents to gain a better understanding of how state priorities will impact them on the local level. The meeting is scheduled from 3 p.m. -5 p.m. February 20 at the Finkelstein Memorial Library in Spring Valley. Speakers should register and request a time to speak. Each speaker will be allowed five minutes.
