WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a bride-to-be who was killed in a New York boating accident died from drowning and severe head injuries.

The Rockland County medical examiner's office says her fiance's best man also died from drowning in the Friday night crash. The bodies of Lindsey Stewart and Mark Lennon were pulled from the Hudson River over the weekend. Autopsies were performed Monday. The speedboat they and four others were in had collided with a moored construction barge – there for work on the new Tappan Zee Bridge. State officials say the barge was properly lit, while some area residents say the lighting was difficult to see. Stewart was to marry Brian Bond August 10. Bond was injured in the crash. The boat’s operator, 35-year-old Jojo John, is charged with vehicular manslaughter and vehicular assault. The Rockland County district attorney says he is seeking upgraded charges and awaiting results of toxicology testing.
