Hudson Line Derailment Recovery Continues

NEW YORK – The remaining three CSX freight cars that derailed last Thursday night on Metro-North’s Hudson Line should be removed from the tracks in the Bronx by tonight.

At night through Thursday after 10 p.m., Metro-North is bussing passengers so railroad workers can have unconstrained access to the derailment site.

On Friday, regular train service will operate the entire day. All day and night on Saturday and Sunday, a substitute train/bus schedule will be in effect to get the rebuilding work done quickly ad restore full operating capacity for the first time since the July 18 derailment.

Right after the derailment, lower Hudson Line service was shut down while upper Hudson Line service ran with limited service. Buses substituted for trains in sections where rail service was blocked.
