Every Road to Healing Town Hall: Advancing Brooklyn’s Vision for Community-Led Safety
Brooklyn — join us for a conversation on how we build safety rooted in community beyond law enforcement.
As the new mayoral administration makes decisions that will impact New York neighborhoods for years to come, it is essential that Brooklyn residents have a voice. Right now, community safety is at the forefront of political conversation locally and nationally. People are talking about violence, safety, and how our city can do better—and you need to be heard.
We invite Brooklyn community members to gather on Tuesday, March 24 for the Every Road to Healing Town Hall, held at Brooklyn Borough Hall. We’ll be talking about community-led solutions to violence, bringing Brooklyn residents together to shape the future of safety locally. We welcome people impacted by harm, residents, students, practitioners, and anyone who cares about community healing in Brooklyn.
Facilitated by the Black Alliance for Just Immigration’s Deputy Director Abraham Paulos, you’ll hear from panelists Danielle Sered (Executive Director, Common Justice), Shneaqua Coco Stanley (Executive Director, Both Sides of the Violence Inc.), and Rama Issa Ibrahim (Executive Director, The Center for Anti-Violence Education). These leaders have been doing groundbreaking work in criminal-legal reform, advancing solutions that center safety, community, and care, outside of enforcement. They’ll discuss the recent victim compensation reforms which allow survivors to access support without going to the police, and their broader visions for redefining public safety in New York City.
In addition to the panel and rich community conversation, the event will include a preview of Visions of Safety and Healing, a multimedia project by award-winning artist Bayeté Ross Smith in partnership with Common Justice.
Our city is poised to take monumental steps in how NYC invests in safety over the coming years, and Brooklyn needs to be in the room. Join us in shaping what comes next.
The Town Hall will take place from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Brooklyn Borough Hall, 209 Joralemon St, Community Room, 1st Floor, Brooklyn, NY 11201. Register at www.tinyurl.com/bktownhall2026 or on the Common Justice website.
