The chamber of commerce has come a long way over the years from a collection of main street businesses in a community. Now they include small, medium and large businesses such as retail, high-tech, the service industry, law firms and many others. The newly elected chair of the Capital Region Chamber is Richard Sleasman, president and managing director of the commercial real estate firm CBRE Albany.
WAMC’s Brian Shields spoke with Sleasman about how chambers of commerce have evolved over the years.
