The Department of Motor Vehicles is moving out of downtown Albany.
The building DMV currently occupies on South Pearl Street is owned by Albany County, which is looking to move county agencies into the space.
County Director of Operations George Penn: "Last year DMV told the county it was moving to another location. DMV had requested an extension, and the county granted that. DMV will be leaving the space at the end of October."
Officials say the DMV is moving up to 855 Central Avenue, where it expects to continue operations in early 2019.
