A hat officially goes into the ring for Mayor of a Capital Region city.
Albany County Legislature Chairman Shawn Morse announced Thursday he will run for mayor of Cohoes: his uncle. incumbent mayor George Primeau, cited health reasons for a decision not to run earlier this year.
Morse, who is a city firefighter and area labor leader, vies for the Democratic nod against Councilwoman Dianne Nolin.
The city committee will endorse candidates after petitioning concludes in July.
