New Solar Business Grand Opening In Albany

PosiGen Solar Solutions, a growing provider of comprehensive solar solutions programs, will host the grand opening of its first store in New York State this Saturday. 

With its entrance into the Albany market, the company will create up to 120 new green jobs while offering consumers solar panel and energy efficiency concepts that will help all customers of any income level save on their energy bills while helping the environment.

What Else: Live music by High Definition; free food; a chance to win one of two solar PV systems; and an interactive venue to learn how solar panels work, the types of leasing and energy efficiency programs that are available so that even low income families can afford solar panels and save money on their utility bills.

The company was recently awarded the U.S. Chamber of Commerce 2014 Small Business of the Year Award, and also recognized by the Dept. of Defense for hiring military veterans.

Dave Lucas is WAMC’s Capital Region Bureau Chief. Born and raised in Albany, he’s been involved in nearly every aspect of local radio since 1981. Before joining WAMC, Dave was a reporter and anchor at WGY in Schenectady. Prior to that he hosted talk shows on WYJB and WROW, including the 1999 series of overnight radio broadcasts tracking the JonBenet Ramsey murder case with a cast of callers and characters from all over the world via the internet. In 2012, Dave received a Communicator Award of Distinction for his WAMC news story "Fail: The NYS Flood Panel," which explores whether the damage from Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee could have been prevented or at least curbed. Dave began his radio career as a “morning personality” at WABY in Albany.
