Promotional photos from "Acquanetta" and "The Miracle of Heliane" at Bard SummerScape

The 16th annual Bard SummerScape opened this past weekend and runs through August 18th. The festival features seven weeks of world-class opera, theater, dance, cabaret, film, and music, including the 30th annual Bard Music Festival, Korngold and His World.

This year the festival is presenting a modern, multi-media style opera, "Acquanetta," written by Catskill resident, librettist Deborah Artman who join us this morning. The opera’s music is by Michael Gordon and the production runs from July 11 through July 21.

We also welcome Nunally Kersh - the producer for the opera, Erich Wolfgang Korngold’s “The Miracle of Heliane” a new production & and a U.S. Premiere – running July 26th through August 4th.

Joe talks to people on the radio for a living. In addition to countless impressive human "gets" - he has talked to a lot of Muppets. Joe grew up in Philadelphia, has been on the area airwaves for more than 25 years and currently lives in Washington County, NY with his wife, Kelly, and their dog, Brady. And yes, he reads every single book.
