Jump Out For Some Fresh Air With Darlingside

Darlingside (four men arranged in a cool band photo)
Cameron Gee
Darlingside

The quartet, Darlingside, (named for the creative advice attributed to William Faulkner that in writing you must kill your darlings), is playing two sold out shows at Caffè Lena in Saratoga Springs tomorrow night and they'll be at The Hangar Theatre in Ithaca, New York on Friday.

Don Mitchell, Auyon Mukharji, Harris Paseltiner, and David Senft have been making music together since they were students at Williams College. Their most recent release is a six song EP entitled “Look Up and Fly Away.” All of their recordings are available on More Doug Records.

Harris Paseltiner plays cello and guitar in Darlingside and he joined us to talk about the band and how they write and perform together.

Sarah has been a public radio producer for over fifteen years. She grew up in Saranac Lake, New York where she worked part-time at Pendragon Theatre all through high school and college. She graduated from UAlbany in 2006 with a BA in English and started at WAMC a few weeks later as a part-time board-op in the control room. Through a series of offered and seized opportunities she is now the Senior Contributing Producer of The Roundtable and Producer of The Book Show. During the main thrust of the Covid-19 pandemic shut-down, Sarah hosted a live Instagram interview program "A Face for Radio Video Series." On it, Sarah spoke with actors, musicians, comedians, and artists about the creative activities they were accomplishing and/or missing.
