Rebecca Eaton On 'Making Masterpiece'

For twenty-five years and counting, Rebecca Eaton has presided over PBS’s Masterpiece, the longest running weekly prime time drama series on American television. Eaton brings to her new memoir, Making Masterpiece, the voices of many of the writers, directors, producers, and other contributors and shares personal anecdotes about her decades-spanning career.

She shares stories about luminaries such as Alistair Cooke, Maggie Smith, Diana Rigg, Benedict Cumberbatch, Kenneth Branagh, Gillian Anderson, and Daniel Radcliffe, whose first TV role was as the title character in David Copperfield.

Eaton has been executive producer of Masterpiece since 1985. Under her leadership, the series has earned forty-four Primetime Emmy Awards, fifteen Peabody Awards, four Golden Globes, and two Academy Award nominations.

Joe talks to people on the radio for a living. In addition to countless impressive human "gets" - he has talked to a lot of Muppets. Joe grew up in Philadelphia, has been on the area airwaves for more than 25 years and currently lives in Washington County, NY with his wife, Kelly, and their dog, Brady. And yes, he reads every single book.
