"Down The Hall" And "Grounded" At The Theatre Institute At Sage

The Theatre Institute at Sage is dedicated to providing quality live theatre and arts-in-education programming to Capital Region youth, educators and residents. The Institute also provides opportunities for Russell Sage students as performers, technicians and teachers.

The senior theater majors are devising a spooky site-specific theater piece entitled Down The Hall. It will be performed during this spooky Halloween season and will feature the writings of Sylvia Plath, HP Lovecraft, Roald Dahl, and Edgar Allan Poe.

The Theatre Institute at Sage is also working on a production of Grounded by George Brant. In the play, an ace fighter pilot retires when an unexpected pregnancy brings her home. Reassigned to operate military drones from a windowless trailer outside Las Vegas, she hunts terrorists by day and returns to her family at night.

Here to tell us about these two productions – and maybe a couple more – we welcome Leigh Strimbeck, Director of Grounded and Artist in Residence at Russell Sage College; and Senior Theater major Katie Pedro, who is one of the director/writer/actors in Down the Hall.

Joe talks to people on the radio for a living. In addition to countless impressive human "gets" - he has talked to a lot of Muppets. Joe grew up in Philadelphia, has been on the area airwaves for more than 25 years and currently lives in Washington County, NY with his wife, Kelly, and their dog, Brady. And yes, he reads every single book.
