"The God Game" At CapRep

The God Game, a play by Suzanne Bradbeer, is having its World Premiere at Capital Repertory Theatre in Albany, NY.

The play was included in the inaugural NEXT ACT! New Play Summit in 2012. NEXT ACT!, a joint venture between Proctors and Capital Rep, is a three-day festival with the mission of discovering fresh, exciting dramatic and musical properties, and nurturing both new and established playwrights.

The God Game is about religion and politics - the two topics to avoid in polite conversation. In the play, Tom and Lisa and Matt have known each other for years, through thick and thin - but the news Matt brings on an August anniversary afternoon in Richmond, Virginia could change all of their lives forever.

The show is running at CapRep through May 25th and is being given a rolling World Premiere. Following its success at NEXT ACT!, the play—which had also been workshopped in New York—was selected for the Gulfshore Playhouse by its Founder and Producing Artistic Director (and UAlbany graduate) Kristin Coury, who is also directing the show for CapRep.

Capital Repertory Theatre veteran Yvonne Perry plays Lisa in The God Game, a loving wife and a devout Christian dedicated to helping disenfranchised women get their lives back on track. She joins us now to tell us more about the show.

Joe grew up in Philadelphia, has been on the area airwaves for more than 25 years and currently lives in Washington County, NY with his wife, Kelly, and their dog, Brady. And yes, he reads every single book.
