Ben Vereen at Belleayre Music Festival

Actor, singer, dancer Ben Vereen will display his full-range talents at the Belleayre Music Festival during his one-man show, Steppin' Out with Ben Vereen.

Ben's performance is a unique blend of artistry, combining a tribute to Broadway, Frank Sinatra, and a very special tribute to Sammy Davis Jr. Featuring hit songs such as "Defying Gravity," "Mr. Bojangles," "Something's Coming" and "Life is Just a Bowl of Cherries," Ben Vereen's "Steppin' Out" is a contemporary and timeless journey through the Broadway songbook.

After formally studying his craft and earning steady work on Broadway, Ben earned critical recognition for his dazzling performance in Jesus Christ Superstar, Pippin (Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical) and in Funny Lady. Ben was introduced to a more mainstream audience with his crafty portrayal of Chicken George in the landmark TV miniseries Roots, receiving an Emmy nomination.

He joins us to talk about his impression on the revival of Pippin, Bob Fosse, and more.

Joe talks to people on the radio for a living. In addition to countless impressive human "gets" - he has talked to a lot of Muppets. Joe grew up in Philadelphia, has been on the area airwaves for more than 25 years and currently lives in Washington County, NY with his wife, Kelly, and their dog, Brady. And yes, he reads every single book.
