Albany, NY – As part of a global push for women's rights, the United Nations wants countries to improve
their number crunching skills.
In a major new initiative the UN is seeking to improve the collection and reporting of data to not only chart the situation of women in the world but improve it.
The report highlights data collection and reporting in health, education, poverty and violence against women but warns too little is sufficiently disseminated to show gender and age.
John Terrett reports from United Nations headquarters in New York.
