Albany State Of The City 2018 Address

facebook

Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan delivered the State of The City Address Thursday night.

In a departure from tradition, the second-term Democrat gave the address in Common council chambers - a smaller space than the rotunda - citizens were urged to watch it on Facebook live, which more than 900 did. Top items on the mayor's agenda include securing that 12 and a half million dollars in annual state aid that once again failed to materialize in Governor Andrew Cuomo's budget, along with a goal to make the city workforce reflect the diversity of Albany's population, and meeting challenges related to poverty, the environment and vacant buildings.  Albany must now wait and see if that 12.5 million appears in governor’s 30-day budget amendments.
