Alan Chartock...In Conversation with Joe and Carol Reich

Host Alan Chartock is joined by Joe and Carol Reich, educational reformers who have spent decades working to make quality education available to underprivileged students.

The co-founders of the Beginning with Children Foundation, which opened the first charter-like public school in Brooklyn in 1992, Joe and Carol Reich are the authors of Getting to Bartlett Street: Our 25-Year Quest to Level the Playing Field in Education. Joe Reich founded investment firm Reich and Tang, and Carol Reich is the former president of the Lexington Center.

Dr. Alan Chartock is professor emeritus at the University at Albany. He hosts the weekly Capitol Connection series, heard on public radio stations around New York. The program, for almost 12 years, highlighted interviews with Governor Mario Cuomo and now continues with conversations with state political leaders. Dr. Chartock also appears each week on The Media Project and The Roundtable and offers commentary on Morning Edition, weekdays at 7:40 a.m.
