Schenectady City School District Superintendent Larry Spring resigned Wednesday night.

The Daily Gazettereports the Schenectady school board tapped former Data and Accountability Director Aaron Bochniak as acting superintendent. Spring’s resignation comes as schools remain closed for the second straight week during the coronavirus pandemic, and as the district struggles to come up with a budget for next year. Spring, who held the position since 2012, says he plans to finish his doctoral dissertation.
