North Adams, Massachusetts Mayor Tom Bernard is cruising to a second two-year term, based on unofficial city tallies of Tuesday’s election. According to the city clerk, Bernard won more than 1,700 votes to challenger Rachel Branch’s roughly 400. In seeking a second term, Bernard said he had unfinished business, while Branch pointed to the historical absence of female mayoral candidates in the city.
