Greg Haymes of Nippertown is back with his December music selections, including one WAMC tradition.
1. Reverend Horton Heat's "Santa on the Roof" from his 2005 album, "We Three Kings," playing at Colony in Woodstock tonight, where he's hosting Horton's Holiday Hayride with Junior Brown, the Blasters and Big Sandy.
2. Jerry Douglas' "The First Noel" from his 2009 album, "Jerry Christmas," playing a solo performance at The Egg on Saturday as part of a double bill with David Bromberg.
3. Franklin Micare's "You're the Reason for My Christmas Day" from his album, "You're the Reason..." playing at Gaffney's in Saratoga Springs on Saturday night.
4. Maura Kennedy's "Beneath the Mistletoe" from her 2015 album, "Villanelle." The Kennedys are playing at Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs on Friday, December 15.
5. Ashley Dees' "Santa's Coming in a Whirly Bird" because it's our holiday tradition here at Nippertown and WAMC.
