Crash Closes Part Of I-90

The westbound lanes of Interstate 90 in the city of Albany were shut down by a crash overnight.

Authorities say the crash occurred around 1 a.m. Friday in I-90's westbound lanes between Exit 6 and Exit 5A.

State police and emergency crews remain at the scene of the crash, which apparently involved several vehicles. News10 reported there was one fatality.

Westbound traffic is being diverted off I-90 onto Interstate 787 in Albany.

The closure of the westbound lanes has been causing major backup during the morning commute because I-90 is a main route for motorists heading to jobs in the Albany area.
