New York U.S. Senator Charles Schumer has issued a statement on Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid’s endorsement to lead the Senate Democrats after the Nevada statesman announced his retirement.
Reid gave his support to Schumer in an interview Friday morning.
Schumer, currently the Senate Democrats’ third-in-command, said he looked forward to working alongside Reid for the remainder of the session.
He said, “I am honored and humbled to have the support of so many of my colleagues and look forward to our Senate Democratic Caucus continuing to fight for the middle class.”
