We have heard a lot about the rebels fighting in the Syrian civil war against the forces of Bashar Al-Assad, but who are these fighters? Malcolm Nance spent 20 years as a counter-intelligence officer in the U.S. military and taught terrorism survival. He also lived in Syria and Lebanon and can speak Syrian-dialect Arabic.
Nance will speak tonight at 7 p.m. at the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce at 1 North St. in Hudson, in a speech sponsored by the Columbia County Democratic Committee.
He spoke to WAMC News today about the Syrian rebels, which he says are not one force, but many small, local armies.
