Reports: Murray To Resign

Massachusetts Lt. Gov Timothy Murray

BOSTON (AP) — Several people familiar with the decision say Massachusetts Lt. Gov. Timothy Murray is expected to step down to become head of the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Murray, a former mayor of Worcester, is expected to resign from Gov. Deval Patrick's administration if confirmed as president and chief executive of the business group.

The sources, including two people in the administration, were not authorized to discuss the development publicly. Murray is in his second term. He had previously announced that he would not run for governor or any other elective office in 2014.
