Daniel Vice, the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence

The number of weapons background checks carried out by the F.B.I. has been on the increase in recent months. That’s according to a new report compiled by the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence in Washington D.C.

Increases in background checks were seen in the first three months of this year, compared to the same period last year in New York, Massachusetts, Vermont and Connecticut. In fact in the first quarter, the background checks were up by more than 15,800 in New York State compared to the same three months last year. For more on the numbers, WAMC’s Brian Shields spoke with Daniel Vice, a senior attorney at the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence.
