EPA Regional Administrator Talks Housatonic Cleanup

Pittsfield, MA – General Electric has remediated the first 2 miles of the Housatonic River in order to remove decades worth of PCB contamination. The manufacturing giant has submitted its proposal concerning the rest of the river to the EPA for public review, and environmental advocates say the meager proposal should be thrown out. EPA s Region One Administrator Curt Spalding spoke with WAMC s Berkshire Bureau Chief Charlie Deitz about how the process will play out.
