14 Attorneys General Urge Commitment To Paris Climate Accord

Vermont's attorney general has joined 13 other attorneys general in urging the country to reaffirm a commitment to an international agreement to reduce climate-warming carbon emissions.

The letter signed by Vermont Attorney General T.J. Donovan says climate change poses multiple threats including to national security, the economy, and the health and well-being of citizens.

President Donald Trump is still deliberating whether to withdraw from the Paris Climate accord.

The attorneys general signed the letter to Trump on Tuesday, saying the pact was negotiated under American leadership and adopted by the vast majority of the world's countries.

Besides Vermont, the letter was signed by attorneys general from Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Rhode Island, the District of Columbia and American Samoa.
