"Doped" Looks At Drugs' Role In Sports

Even if you’re a sports fan, it’s been hard to keep track of all the steroid scandals in sports in recent years. From Alex Rodriguez to countless Olympians, the headlines and teary apologies — and the subsequent morality play over the meaning of tainted records — can be overwhelming.

But as producer and director Andrew Muscato demonstrates in his new documentary, the issue is never black and white — and the bad guys aren’t just the athletes looking for an edge.

Doped: The Dirty Side of Sports debuts September 30 on Epix at 8 p.m. Muscato also directed the penetrating doc Schooled: The Price of College Sports.
